A full scale anti terror alert erupted in the course of a routine back surgery operation at City Hospital Birmingham on Sunday as hospital patient Maya Semour-Butts, 31 was having surgery to have her appendix removed.

Dr Ejaz Ahmed, said that the explosion, triggered by an electronic device he was holding at the time, knocked him down ‘on his bottom’ and that gas was passed which in turn ignited alcoholic fluid on the surgery table which in turn ignited fellow surgeon Dr Harinder Singhs surgical gown who ran out cursing Dr Ahmed calling him names and a terrorist.

A Community Police Officer on routine duty saw Dr Singh with his Turban, beard and on fire – ran in the opposite direction radioing for back up stating that a terrorist attack was in progress at the hospital.

‘Various people started running in various directions when they saw Dr Singh looking crazed, on fire and shouting what I assumed was a declaration of war against infidels’ mentioned the CP Officer Keith Obgombu. Who radioed for backup which in turn brought an assortment of anti terror specialists down.

‘Ahmed emitted a stupendous flatus, which startled me with its percussive force. Somehow the surgical spirit ignited ferociously, erupting in a ball of flame, accompanied by a thunderclap of deafening proportions. and my gown caught fire. And I ran out of the room shouting’  said Dr Singh

Maya managed to stay sedated and safe during the 15 min operation which lasted four hours due to the ‘terrorist incident’.

‘I’m sorry I slept through the whole thing’, Maya said.

Dr Ahmed and Dr Singh were both question by authorities without arrest and are continiuing to serve City Hospital patients. Both have promised that they will not eat food that causes flatuence and also promised to inform authorities if they see any pro-terrorist activity in patients.

The CP Officer has been demoted to a car park attendent.
