I have a mild infatuation with fine, French-cuff English shirts and nice cuff links. However, I consider wearing a tie to be synonymous with (and about as desirable as) wearing a noose, or maybe even a dog collar with a leash. What do you think about wearing cuff links—but without a tie—in informal situations, to be “casually elegant”? I’m getting conflicting opinions on this. Your thoughts?
