Taliban Responds To Karzai – Can We Call This Reconciliation?

The following is an unedited statement that was published by the Taliban website, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, earlier today. ***** After the London Conference, the Kabul surrogate administration farcically speaks of peace and reconciliation. Hamid Karzai, Head of the stooge administration, visited Saudi Arabia to request Saudi King Abdullah to mediate between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Kabul regime and, by extension, with the USA. However, if we ponder over the whole process of reconciliation, we see that it is no more than an eye-wash, designed to ostensibly show to the public of these countries who are against the … Continue reading Taliban Responds To Karzai – Can We Call This Reconciliation?

Taking Tea with the Takfiri Taliban Mullahs

MICHAEL RUBIN http://WWW.COMMENTARYMAGAZINE.COM/VIEWARTICLE.CFM/TAKING-TEA-WITH-THE-TALIBAN-15344 February 2010 Addressing the nation on December 1, 2009, President Barack Obama laid out the case for an augmented American presence in Afghanistan to battle the Taliban forces seeking to push their way back into power. “Over the last several years, the Taliban has maintained common cause with al-Qaeda, as they both seek an overthrow of the Afghan government,” he declared. The president offered a brief account of the Taliban’s rise to power before the U.S. tossed them out in November 2001. “Al-Qaeda’s base of operations was in Afghanistan,” he said, “where they were harbored by the … Continue reading Taking Tea with the Takfiri Taliban Mullahs

Many Muslims quietly working to head off radicalism as politicians fuel radicalisation

In 2008, a New York woman feared her brother, a troubled young Muslim man living in New York, might be getting involved in a violent radical group in Pakistan. So she called a cleric in Houston for advice. The cleric in turn called Mohamed Elibiary, head of the Plano-based nonprofit Freedom and Justice Foundation. Elibiary, who has quietly emerged as the country’s leading Muslim deradicalization expert, devised an intervention that played on the young man’s familial duties and got him to return to the United States where counselors and mentors steered him away from militant extremism. That case is detailed … Continue reading Many Muslims quietly working to head off radicalism as politicians fuel radicalisation

Stoking the fears of terrorism to gain a stranglehold over the worldwideweb!

Bob Barr Earlier this week, the government’s top officials responsible for managing America’s foreign intelligence and counter-terrorism operations, testified on Capitol Hill.  While much of the information CIA Director Leon Panetta, Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair, and FBI Director Robert Mueller provided the Senate in the public portion of their testimony was valuable and informative, it was not all thus. In a transparent display of theatrics, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, asked the three administration officials if another “attempted attack” on the US was likely in the near future.  If the witnesses answered that such … Continue reading Stoking the fears of terrorism to gain a stranglehold over the worldwideweb!

Attempts to control regional media will fuel radicalisation

Muhammad Ayish Ever since the advent of satellite television and the world wide web, Arab media outlets have always found themselves embroiled in national and global controversies. But in the past few weeks in particular, tensions within many private media organisations have reached record levels in the face of what they see as ominous regional and global regulatory regimes. What is so intriguing is that those pressures come not only from within the region, but from places as far away as the US Capitol. A recent bill passed by the US Congress imposes sanctions on Middle East satellite companies that … Continue reading Attempts to control regional media will fuel radicalisation

Desperation fuels North Korea’s leniency

By Donald Kirk SEOUL – Score one for the great North Korean propaganda machine. American missionary Robert Park walked across the frozen Tumen River from China into North Korea on Christmas Eve bringing “Christ’s love and forgiveness” to Dear Leader Kim Jong-il, and now he is to go home thankful for the “love” he got from the North Koreans. The saga of the 28-year-old Korean-American missionary, the son of Korean parents living in Tucson, Arizona, is the latest surprise in the stop-go signals emanating from North Korea as the country undergoes the trauma of revulsion against currency reform and a … Continue reading Desperation fuels North Korea’s leniency
