A women’s marathon was disrupted by the Mullahs, in fact they disrupt anything which has to do with women. Their rule is women should neither be seen or heard. What the mullahs believe has nothing to do with Islam. Islam and Mullahism are two separate things. Islam can be interpreted in so many different variations depending who reads the Koran. It is not possible tell exactly what is the standing of women is in the religion. But the Mullah’s embrace any concept which suits them preferably anything which discriminates against women whether it is in the Koran or not.
The Mullahs say they follow the traditions of the Prophet Mohammed – what they forget is that the Prophet Mohammed was an employee of abusinesswoman. She was independent and she chose him to be her husband. Of course there are countless variations to this story of how they eventually got getting married. But there is no denying that I woman fell in love a man many years younger than herself is an indication that women had the right to marry whom they pleased without restrictions. But Mullahism is dead against giving any woman this kind of freedom.
Mullahism is ugliness and drabness. Bearded faces is considered a symbol of piety. Since women do not have beards – they therefore are unable to represent the powerful religious sentiments. A recent reborn Mullah, he later announced that he would shave it off after it was reportedto have been given chance to act in film, but he started receiving death threats. It was as if by shaving off his beard he was going to commit a crime.
The idea that women can never be heard – would effectively remove them from jobs and doing business. Although the founder of the religion had married was a fairly prominent businesswoman. If the Prophet Mohammad did not mind then the Mullahs should not – but the religion of the Mullahs is not the same as Islam and has nothing to do with the life of the Prophet.They misrepresented religion deliberately – it has been done to such an extent that only parts of a specific verse in the Koran is selected to prove their point,
At a forensic symposium, an eminent forensic specialist was explaining certain aspects of his speciality – he came to the topic of how forensic science can tell if a woman was raped before she was murdered. A group of Mullahs – stood up from the crowd and said there is no room for such explanation, they said the only way to prove this is by having two women as a witness to the crime.
The specialist was dumbfounded, till amongst the crowd a man who knew the Koran well – said there is the story of the Prophet Joseph who was accused of trying to rape one of the women, it was found to a complete fabrication because his shirt was torn the back and not the front. The women were trying to seduce him.
The specialist resumed his lecture and the Mullahs sat down seething with rage. After the symposium ended the man who given a verbatim quotation from the Koran became the object of their wrath – he made a run for it. As regards the two women being as witnesses – is really an extract of a particular verse from the Koran and not the entire verse itself, if the entire verse is taken in context, the need for two women should be witnesses is not a universal requirement.
Since Islam is not a monastic religion, a vicious attempt is being made to turn it into one. There is organisation called the Tableegi Jamaat. When it started gaining momentum the moderate citizens called it excuse for gays to congregate legally without being exposed as such. Mullahism does attract men with intense homosexual tendencies But that does not justify their downright ridiculous attitude towards women.
One of the reasons for this is that the literal translation of the Koran is not available, although everyone claims to be a Muslim – but no one knows what is inside it. They fact it is in entirely in Arabic does not encourage people to read it. The Mullahs like to keep everyone ignorant and make up interpretations to suit their needs – not what is really said in the Koran Once the translated and uninterested version of the Koran is widely available then the Mullahs would not be able to make people believe whatever they want them to – they would be exposed absolute liars.
The Mullahs have from the time General Zia-ul-Haq have had absolute control over the media, they do not allow people to see anything which clearly involves a healthy heterosexual relationship. They also do not want fashion shows, although the rich and influential are having shows all over Pakistan and the fanatical Mullahs – know that they would beaten up and jailed if they ever dare to protest. Only a general’s daughter could participate in a women’s race in the recent Olympics in Athens. The Mullahs kept silent about this although they were very uncomfortable with the fact it had actually happened.
But the dangerous and unacceptable control over the media of the Mullahs is terrible. Whatever they preach becomes law. There was a time when the average mullah would be merely a shadow. Right next to mosques there use to be liquor shops, the mullahs never said anything and went about their business. They did not care what kind of movies were being shown in cinema houses and how they were advertised. They never interfered in the daily life of people – they were least prominent members of society and their word meant nothing to anyone.
These days they imagine that they can win the hearts and minds of the people, they are mistaken. History has proven that in free and fair elections, the religious political parties have always lost. People do not want endless preaching, they want action to resolve more pressing issues. The Mullahs do not have any answer for them because of their limited understanding and capacity to do anything about them.
Obscenity is the pivotal issue for fanatical mullahs, they conveniently forget the most important problems are unemployment, poverty, illiteracy and medical care for all. But Religious parties are not there to provide relief to the poor, they have entered politics to make money for themselves. Charity has been politicised – countless cases of massive embezzlement by mullahs of the money collected for charity have been exposed. Yet the mullahs continue to behave as if they are the most pious of all the men in the world.
There was a TV public debate on foreign TV channels. There were two men who were give their opinion about them. At the end of the show the audience asked them questions. One of the men was a mullah and the other was retired judge. A young lady from the audience stood up and asked the mullah a few questions.
“What do you think about foreign TV channels” She asks
“They are downright obscene” The mullah replied
“Do you have a cable connection in your house?”
“No!”
“Then how do you know what they are showing is obscene?”
The mullah was left speechless. There was nothing he could say. The judge gave a sensible reply.
“I would never respect a man no matter how well dressed he is if he is an absolute crook, I certainly respect one who has helped people in need, is honest and has done a great deal of good – irrespective he wearing anything or not’One could see that mullah was looked terribly enraged, but did not know what to say and sat frozen on his chair.
